Sergio Barreña will participate in the XXI ITS Spain congress to be held in Madrid from 13 to 15 July. On this occasion the congress will gather the contributions of the ITS to the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

The congress will be based on five vectors: ITS for the payment for the use of roads, ITS for the safety and efficiency in the management of road tunnels, connected mobility, Smart Cities and the digitalization of the payment in public transport.

Low emission zones

As we have announced, Sergio Barreña, sociologist and founding partner of Ingartek, will participate in the congress to talk about low emission zones. That is to say, the set of duly delimited public roads with geographical continuity, in which special measures of regulation of access, circulation and parking of vehicles are implemented, for the reduction of the pollutant emissions from the traffic

Specifically, Barreña will present a guide to help municipalities design their low-emission zones. The presentation of Barreña will take place on July 14, Wednesday.

Barreña will provide information on compliance with the law on low-emission zones, as well as the steps to be taken to implement a low-emission zone, or the impact that this may have.

Sustainable urban mobility

Population growth is increasing globally, and the management of urban growth is key to sustainable development. That is why, by 2023, it will be essential for cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants to establish low-emission zones. In view of this objective, Barreña will provide data and steps to follow in order to comply with the regulations.
