If your work center has more than 100 workers per shift, you need a mobility plan to work

On November 10, the deadline for companies that in at least one of their shifts exceeds 100 workers to have a Work Mobility Plan.

In 2020, the Basque Government gave a period of two years for these companies to carry out a transport plan to work, and the established period ends on November 10.

DOES YOUR COMPANY ALREADY HAVE A MOBILITY PLAN TO WORK?

The Basque Government decree establishes that the plan must contain at least the following sections:

  • a) Characterization of the center of activity
  • b) Diagnosis of the mobility of the workplace, based on the following analyses:
    1. Characterization of mobility to the workplace.
    2. Mobility demand analysis.
    3. Analysis of the mobility offer.
    4. Analysis of parking management.
      • c) Definition of objectives and indicators.
      • d) Action Plan

WHAT IS A MOBILITY PLAN TO WORK?

Having a transportation plan to work means having a set of measures prepared through a participatory process and carried out by the management of the workplace. The measures that make up a Work Mobility Plan usually aim to encourage the use of more efficient modes of transport and reduce the need to travel to the workplace.

BENEFITS OF MOBILITY PLANS TO WORK

If they meet their main objective, the greatest benefit of these mobility plans is that the negative impacts derived from mobility to workplaces are reduced, such as the reduction of energy consumption and greenhouse gases, reduction of health costs, of accidents, etc.
